What this tool does

Resize images to any width or height, keeping the aspect ratio or forcing exact dimensions. Perfect for preparing photos for the web, social media or print without firing up a heavy editor.

Once resized, try image compress to shrink the file even further or image converter if you also need to change the format.

What you can use it for

  • Resize a photo before uploading it to a lightweight site.
  • Create a square 512 px avatar from a source photo.
  • Fit screenshots to a fixed width for documentation.
  • Cut images in half to fit them inside an email without choking the inbox.

How to use it

  1. Drop one or several images into the input box.
  2. Set the maximum width and, optionally, the height.
  3. Leave the keep-aspect-ratio option on if you don't want to distort the image.
  4. Pick the output format or leave it on Auto and press Run.

Everything runs inside your browser. No file is uploaded to any server. See more tools in this field.

Frequently asked questions

Is the aspect ratio preserved when resizing?

If you keep the lock option enabled, the tool uses the width as the reference and computes the height proportionally. Turn it off if you want to force the exact dimensions you typed in.

Can I scale an image up?

Technically yes, but keep in mind that enlarging an image loses sharpness. The tool does not invent detail, so it's always better to start from a source image that is large enough.

What format does the resized image use?

By default the same format as the source image. If you pick a specific format (JPG, PNG or WEBP), the image is resized and exported directly in that format.

Does it work with several images at once?

Yes. Drop several at once and each is resized with the same dimensions and format. Results download one by one.
